Explore inside the cities unique community radio station, City Park Radio and associated museum of early radio. Subject to availability, visit the Albert Hall, used to farewell troops to the war fronts and used as a hospital during the major influenza epidemic in 1919. It is also home of the worlds only operating Brindly water pipe organ. Enter the bold Italiante style Town Hall and witness the power of Launceston’s Local Government. Discover the Cataract Gorge, ride the chairlift, see wildlife in the beautiful natural bush. In Paterson Street the site of former women’s prison and Ritchies Mill, former flour mill for 137 years. Enjoy a casual walk along boardwalk to the Seaport precinct and dine in its array of restaurants. See Launceston’s Historic Churches and finish the day with a visit to Truly Tassie and Davies Grand Central purveyors of unique Tassie fare.
